This is because the glaze of the ceramic sink is harder than metal, and the softer material naturally rubs off on the harder one. This metal abrasion can be removed effortlessly and without leaving any residue using the right cleaner and a bit of scrubbing. Suitable cleaners include BioTopp or ceramic hob cleaners such as Stahlfix Classic.   <\/p>\n<p>Scratches, on the other hand, occur very rarely due to the high degree of hardness of the glaze; potential causes include quartz, silicon, topaz, corundum, and diamond. These are seldom found in everyday kitchen use. However, pots or roasting pans with sand residue, ceramic knives, other unglazed ceramics, or diamond rings can also lead to scratches. You should avoid dragging these objects across the ceramic surface.   <\/p>\n<p>But now to the original question! The subtle difference lies in the feel: run your fingernail over the area in question. If you do not feel an indentation, it is merely metal abrasion, which you can remove by simply cleaning. However, if you do feel an indentation, it is indeed a scratch, meaning the glaze has been damaged at this point by a harder material.
